Rotherwick Stone manufactures reconstituted limestone and "rammed earth" building blocks using an automated purpose built block making machine.

The versatility of the block making machine allows the company to manufacture a variety of products from retaining blocks and smaller building blocks to a random pattern design, all produced in either a bevel face, pillow face or smooth finish. Competitors in the market only produce a smooth faced block.

Rotherwick Stone's unique manufacturing process uses a polymer mould taken from natural limestone which captures the beauty of limestone while providing the strength and durability of the reconstituted product.

The rammed earth look blocks are manufactured from crushed cap rock. Its earthy colour blends into the natural tones of our Australian landscape and is proving to be particularly popular in Perth's hills and regional Western Australia. We are not aware of any other company that manufactures a similar product.

In recent years the demand for limestone products has gained momentum with particular emphasis on the landscaping and housing markets.

The trend in the building industry for alternative
products to the traditional clay brick is supported
by the introduction by the major brick companies of
standard bricks with a limestone look, the larger Florentine Limestone, and the Ashlar Limestone which is similar to Rotherwick Stone's Random Pattern blocks.

The market for the rammed earth look blocks is growing rapidly. Manufactured from natural materials sourced from the Perth hills, with no artificial colours added, these blocks have been successfully used by the City of Belmont for all their entry statements and for homes and landscaping projects in the hills and the south west region.
